Tree planting is a real passion of ours, welcome to our Ecologi Forest.
Why?
It’s quite natural to wonder why we are planting trees outside of our own woodland! Tree planting is a really essential part of the solution to climate change. It’s just one part of course, but certainly one we are happy to get involved with.
Other than loving trees, one reason is that we can only plant certain species and numbers at our sites. This restriction could have prevented more planting, so we looked at alternatives.
How Does it Work?
Our partnership with Ecologi works well. It took some time to research various options and find a company we felt really understood how successful tree planting programmes worked.
We have agreed on a number of trees for each sale, some in the UK and some overseas. There is lots of evidence that creating forests overseas has a greater impact. It creates work, grows communities and has environmental benefits over time, like improving soil structure, offering shade and allowing for grazing areas. Hopefully we have found a good balance between the two options.
Updates
